The Fifth Star award represents two thoughts:
1 - The highest award given in our industry for the most outstanding restaurants and hotels.
2 - The Fifth Star that has been awarded to only a couple of military officers in all of history.

The award is given by the MHA to those Four-Star officers who have provided outstanding personal support of the MHA, Enlisted Aides and the military food service field.

General and Mrs. Conway have certainly done that.  They stepped up to provide support and encouragement for the hosting of the 2007 Military Culinary Competition on 8th Street adjacent to Marine Barracks.  They were on hand for the presentation of awards.  Additionally they supported the hosting of an IFSEA Food Safety Symposium at Marine Barracks.  

We are thrilled to have such high level support and thank General and Mrs. Conway.
